Thundersnow!

*meep*

Something strange is afoot! The sky has turned an angry red, thunder rumbles overhead, and a nasty mix of rain, sleet, snow and just plain yelch is coming down. We've got wind blowing ice across the road, all the freezing rain we've had falling since the early hours is turning the roads into black ice....

In short, it feels like the beginning of a story.

Seriously. I look out the front door this morning, and after being blown back into my house by a frigid gust of wind, I changed tactics and peeked out the window. The street was deserted and frozen over. The only sound was the weather, and there was this odd glow where the streetlights were refracting in interesting ways through the precipitation.

(Which reminds me - Hello, Nature? You seem to be turned around. This is Texas, Sweetie, we don't do frigid. kthxbai.)

And THUNDERSNOW! Nothing's stranger than thundersnow!

There's a perfect setting for a creepy dystopian right outside my house.

Eeek!

*Meep* is right. We have a full-blown blizzard bearing down on us up here in Illinois. Yikes!

Be safe down there.

The weather is crazy everywhere this year! Floods and cooler weather here the first half of summer and now cyclones. Keep warm and stay safe. Sounds like a Dean Koontz landscape.

We're going into full-blown Yeti climate up here in the northeast. I feel your pain. Also, I'll be waiting for that creepy dystopian thundersnow book. So you know.

Congrats on your honorable mention, too.

It finally cleared up around here but it is really chilly outside. Salt Lake City is known I guess for its inversions in January/February.

I also noticed the word "dystopian". Is this a catchword I missed because I've seen it like ten times today in different people's blogs.

*looks carefully around for the "Word of the Day" person...

I'm so jealous of everyone with scary weather! Here in CA, it's sunny and warm. What do I have to do for a storm? Chant hex's in my bathroom in the middle of the night with candles? (Nope, that doesn't work) Enjoy your bad weather...
